📣 Honk! Smash! Moo! — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-27

No accounts, ads, analytics, or tracking.

Honk! Smash! Moo! is a picture-and-sound play app for toddlers and preschoolers. This page describes what the app actually does with information, in plain terms. The same summary is bundled inside the app under Settings › About & privacy.

What the app records, and where it stays

To make play feel continuous, the app saves a small amount of game state on the device, in the app's local storage: sound volume and grown-up settings; earned Sticker Book milestones and play mat placements; saved Doodle drawings; how often each activity is opened and approximate active time spent in it; and each activity's own progress and choices, such as what has been built, grown, or collected, and which mode is chosen. It is not linked to an account or identity, and the app does not send it to us or to anyone else.

A drawing can contain something personal, so it is worth knowing that saved drawings stay on the device too. The app has no export or sharing feature.

What leaves the device

Nothing the app records. Play makes no network requests: every graphic is drawn by the app and its music, voices, and sounds are bundled, so it works in airplane mode. The app has no accounts or sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no cookies.

The grown-up area links to this policy and to a help page online. Those links open only after the grown-up check (the parental gate), and they open in your browser. Visiting those pages, or anything else on honksmashmoo.com, is an ordinary web visit: our hosting provider (Firebase Hosting, run by Google) may keep standard server logs, such as IP address and time, as for any website. The website uses no cookies, analytics, or advertising.

Software inside the iPhone and iPad app

The native app wraps the game with Capacitor, an open-source runtime that shows the game in the system web view. It uses these plugins:

All of these run on the device. None of them contains analytics or advertising, and the app sends no data through them. In a web browser the game also uses a service worker, which only stores the game's own files so it can play offline.

Children's privacy

The app is made for young children, so it never asks for a name, birth date, email address, photo, voice recording, or location, and it does not use the camera or microphone. Settings and the links described above sit in a grown-up area; the parental gate is an adult interaction check, not a way of collecting consent.

Purchases and ads

There is nothing to buy in the app and no advertising. If a purchase is added in a later version, this policy will be updated before that version is released to describe what the App Store handles and what the app keeps.

Deleting information

A grown-up can use Start Fresh in Settings (after the grown-up check) to erase child progress while keeping sound and accessibility choices. Deleting the app, or clearing the site data in a browser, removes both progress and preferences.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same page with a new "last updated" date.
